Life is a pattern of habits; some are healthy while others are detrimental. Those behaviors keeping us from accomplishing a desired outcome hold a tight grip originating in our subconscious and likened to a thief in the night, the effects are felt afterwards. What to do?
Once we realize there is a behavior working against us it’s time to evaluate what a change might include. Typically a grand plan is conjured, followed with failure. We want instant results! This ‘I want it now’ attitude perpetuates us into overwhelm; a plan too big or out of reach subsequently sabotage occurs.
Deeply embedded behaviors (habits) are hard to break. Ask you, how important is change?
If you change nothing, nothing will change.
Incorporating a new behavior requires small action steps, one building on the other. Select a goal and reduce it to several small and attainable steps.
The formula for desired outcome: thoughts + feelings + action = results
What thoughts, feelings and action steps would support you accomplishing your goal (results)?
Put your plan on paper; this gives your formula merit. Okay! Now you're in the process of attaining what you say you want!
Putting together a formula and or talking about it yet not implementing are acts of sabotage.
Some need an accountability coach to assist them, if you have a difficult time following thru and or keeping your word perhaps this is a solution for you.
Some will need more than a coach, another option: working with a professional who has the ability to assist you with overcoming blocks and beliefs, the results can be life-changing.
With your eyes closed imagine yourself accomplishing your goal, breathing this experience into every cell, atom and molecule ... into your body, mind and spirit. Asking you what are the benefits of me accomplishing my goal? How will I experience life? How will I feel? Who is there with me? How will this accomplishment benefit others? Sit for a moment … gently open your eyes.
Wishing you much success!
