Glenda's Blog: Where Neat People Meet

 The therapist had already told me I couldn’t change him. Yet, in my mind, I felt frustrated and determined — until I was in that training room. I said, “I’ve done everything I know to do.”

And the trainer looked at me and said… As he looked at me — fully, directly — and there was a passion in him that cut through my internal thoughts. The place could’ve burned down around me and I wouldn’t have known it. My focus was locked on him, and it felt like my walls were crumbling while he spoke.

You’re living your life inside a box of Fruit Loops… You keep rearranging the shapes, the colors, the sizes — trying every combination you can think of — and nothing changes.  The instructions to your life are on the outside of the box.

That went deep. The energy of his feedback was accurate, though I had no idea in that moment what living life on the outside of the box looked like.

I knew within every inch of my soul what he said was correct. And I knew — right there, in that same breath — there was a lot more inner work for me to experience life differently.
